We hope you’re enjoying the summer skies and making the most of the warmer evenings. We’re pleased to share a few exciting updates and plans from the Crawley Astronomical Society:
Society Summer Picnic – Sunday, 10th August
We’re hosting a CAS Summer Picnic on Sunday, 10th August for all members and their families. This is a great opportunity to relax, socialise, and enjoy the summer sun together. Please bring your own food and drink and maybe a bit to share, along with any picnic blankets or chairs you might need. Finally, it looks like a factor 50 day so you’ll get a chance to look through the new Solar Scope (see below). It’s a really splendid sight.
We hope to see you there.
New H-alpha Solar Telescope Acquisition
We’re thrilled to announce the acquisition of a Hydrogen-alpha (Ha) solar telescope! This fantastic addition will greatly enhance our capabilities for daytime outreach, educational activities with local schools, and public engagement from the StarLab during the summer months. It’s a big leap forward in our mission to make solar astronomy more accessible and engaging.
Clear skies and see you soon.
Kind regards
Steve (Chair)
